Revolution Campervans, a new brand of VW campers launched earlier this year, has already trebled its capacity and is moving to a new, world-class production facility in response to the continued strong UK demand for campervans and staycations.

The two brothers who founded Revolution Campervans already have five years experience of producing VW campers under another brand and have invested in new manufacturing and quality assurance processes to create campervans with the highest standard of craftsmanship and design.

Every customer – from adventurers into outdoor sports, families that want to spend time at the beach and the ‘silver surfers’ who love exploring – is offered a 1:1 with a van designer to create the campervan to suit their dreams and budget.

To create a bespoke campervan, Revolution customers are offered a choiceof 12 finishes for the furniture (from driftwood and carbon fibre to orange or baby blue), nine for the floor and three different worktops, plus a wealth of options, from two-tone paintwork and body kits to awnings and solar panels.

There are three models to choose from, the Kook, Noah and Ricos (with others in the pipeline). Each model has the classic side kitchen layout and is available on a new or used Volkswagen Transporter base vehicle with short or long wheelbase. Finance is available, and Revolution Campervans is also happy to part-exchange any vehicle.

The Kook

The Kook is the most affordable model in the range, and designed as a starter model with a slightly simpler specification and design,

but still comfortable and easy to use with plenty of storage. The rear cupboards are open to make it simple to see and get what you want quickly. The kitchen has all the essentials for any camping trip – a sink with a one burner gas hob, fridge, cupboards and plenty of worktop space. Standard specification also includes full glazing with two sliding side windows and lightweight ply CNC cut cabinets. In addition to the driver and twin passenger seat (which both swivel), enabling five people to travel in the Kook, it has a two-person, M1 crash-tested ‘rock and roll’ rear seat that folds into a double bed. There’s another double bed in the pop-up roof, and options include 240v mains hook-up, a diesel heater, BBQ point and shower point.

The Noah

Larger families, or those who want to take friends or grandparents out with them will choose the Noad as it can travel with six people

thanks to a twin front passenger seat and a three-person rear RIB seat (which converts into a large bed). The Noah also boasts a higher specification than the Kook, including a Dometic sink and two-burner hob, internal water tank, 240v mains hook-up and, unusually, a projector to screen films on the pop-up roof’s front canopy. Additional styling and specification available includes gloss black detailing, leather upholstery, Webasto diesel heater, hot/cold shower point, roof bars, LED front and rear lights (with LED DRLs), Sportline front and rear spoiler kit, side steps/bars and two-tone exterior paintwork.

The Ricos

The Ricos is the best-selling model in the range. Essentially, it is very similar to the Noah in terms of specification and styling

options available, but it has a two person rear seat which leaves room for a deeper side kitchen unit giving more storage and space for a SMEV grill.

“We know there are a lot of VW campervan conversions on the market, but we launched Revolution Campervans because we want to offer the highest quality campers for every age and type of use. We also want to grow the brand via a professional network of retailers conveniently located across the UK, to become a market leader,” said Jonathan Norman, Managing Director of Revolution Campervans.

Alistair Norman, Marketing Director at Revolution Campervans commented: “We don’t just convert a VW campervan for sale, we convert it for a lifetime of use and enjoyment. A well designed VW camper lets people take their lives wherever they want and enjoy the trip of a lifetime every weekend.”

“Launching a new VW campervan brand during lockdown, and investing in a new production facility to meet demand, may not have seemed like a good idea initially, but we’ve been particularly busy with customers buying their first ‘adventure vehicle’. Some are replacing company cars they weren’t using anymore or exchanging premium brand cars to use their new campervan as somewhere to work from home in, then escape in their own bubble whenever and wherever they want,” added Alistair Norman.

Revolution Campervans is based at Oundle, near Peterborough, but its campers can be viewed at its network of seven retailers across the UK. This includes:
