RE: Footy Chat - Bugs - 01-04-2017

Off to the big city today to (hopefully) watch the mighty United beat Wigan Athletic & continue our march back to the Premier League!

On the down side, a visit to the big city for us country yokels also costs me money - as Mrs Bugs goes shopping for 45 minutes each way, and doesn't even stop for half time.

Oh dear, 1-0 down Sad

What is a club in any case?

Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes.

It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.....

- Sir Bobby Robson

Ah well, there's always next season, Toffees look like they have a soft centre Sad

RE: Footy Chat - nelliethehooker - 01-04-2017

Another win for the mighty United!

And a defeat for Huddersfield and Leeds. It's looking more and more like a 2 horse race to the title.

However it was another defeat for Blackburn; things are looking grim for them avoiding the drop. Sad

RE: Footy Chat - AlfiesDad - 04-04-2017

Oh dear, the toffees nearly had a great win but gave away a penalty in the 94th min, at least they didn't lose Sad

RE: Footy Chat - Admiral - 05-04-2017

Baggies lost last night, will Swansea beat Spurs tonight, I hope so as I would hate to see them go down

RE: Footy Chat - nelliethehooker - 05-04-2017

Bugs will be celebrating again tonight, but it was a near thing, after having scored from a penalty and then having it disallowed and a free kick given against them for no apparat reason. However back on top and games are running out for other sides to catch up with them & Brighton.

Swans are now doomed after losing a 1-0 lead up to the 88th minute and going n to lose 1-3
