May in the Garden
#1
At last the garden is starting to look gorgeous with a few shrubs out. The Wisteria hasn’t done so well this year though.

We are having to lose our front garden to create parking due to redevelopment opposite us☹️

We have resisted this for years but unfortunately have accepted we have no choice! Getting quotes at the moment adding insult to injury having to pay a substantial sum to lose our garden!!!

We still have the rear garden which we use most of the time but will miss the greenery at the front after 28 years.

Thats a real shame Riggers, there are far too many front gardens around here being given up to park cars off the road. Each loss of garden space alters the underlying water table which in turn reduces the numbers of insects and grubs that the birds feed on, so then the bird and other urban animal population decreases and it becomes a viscous circle. Cities can rapidly become soulless places. Except for the Urban Fox however, which seems to be rapidly populating my area. Plus the Magpie which is becoming a real pest around here!

Mrs R really isn’t happy TF but really have no choice. The front garden is long and wide enough for us to park two cars and still retain about a third to convert to raised flower beds right in front of the house. Not what we want but so be it.

Not a good situation, Rigger, and they call that progress!!

Your shrubs look great Dianne. We will have to get a couple of decent ones sometime now that our back garden is starting to look something like. Hope that we've had sufficient rain at home to keep the plants watered.

Dianne, what do you call the blue bush in the second of your photos of 13th above? We would like to get one of those some time.
