Ready Camp Locations Opening Early
Ready Camp, the glamping provider launched by The Camping and Caravanning Club in February 2015, has expanded its network of glamping tents to meet demand for the 2016 camping season, and the tents can now be booked for stays starting 29 April.

There are now 29 Ready Camp sites hosting 101 glamping tents, close to many of Britain’s best-loved tourist spots.

Among the 12 new locations in the Ready Camp network are Milarrochy Bay and Culzean Castle Sites in Scotland, Cardigan Bay in Wales, Moreton and Tavistock in South West England, Ravenglass in North West England, plus Sheriff Hutton and Boroughbridge in North East England.

In Central England, Cambridge now hosts Ready Camp, as does Kelvedon Hatch in South East England. In East Anglia, Kessingland and West Runton sites now have two and three Ready Camp glamping tents respectively. Bookings are now being taken at each location, for stays of three nights or more.

Success installing the pre-erected tents on campsites means that the all-new Ready Camp venues can be booked earlier than first planned. They join the majority of the original campsites which have been open and welcoming visitors since late March.

Derwentwater, which will become the largest Ready Camp site, is currently undergoing renovation and will be open from 1 July. Glamping tents on the Lake District site, which sits between Skiddaw and the edge of Derwentwater, are now bookable for stays from this date.

There’s a lot to be enjoyed when spending the Early May Bank Holiday with Ready Camp too: Drayton Manor and Alton Towers Resorts are adjacent to Ready Camp at these locations, with both attractions offering family fun. Other events taking place can be found at:

Each glamping tent offers comfortable and hassle-free camping to people keen to camp without having to hitch up a caravan or pitch their own tent – all you need to bring is your own bedding, towels and a sense of adventure.

With accommodation for up to six people, there’s plenty of room for all of the family to spend a night under canvas. The glamping units come fully furnished with a double bed, a triple bunk bed and single stow-away bed. There’s also a kitchen – with a fridge, microwave and hob – basic cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery, a sofa, dining table and chairs, a lockable storage cabinet, electric sockets and lights.

What’s more, a holiday with Ready Camp costs from just £20 per tent, per night in low season.

Bob Hill, Club Sites Director, said: “The Club is pleased to announce that in addition to launching Ready Camp, the Club’s official glamping provider, on 13 more sites this year; we can also take bookings on these new sites ahead of schedule.

“Ready Camp gives families keen to explore the great outdoors who are perhaps apprehensive about investing in a wide range of camping equipment the freedom to explore. Improved availability across our network will help many more people to discover something great this year.”
