Mr. T, a 90 year old english tortoise, was hibernating trough the winter when a rat started eating off its legs. The owner, Jude Ryder, brought her to the veterinary hoping to be able to install some kind of prosthetic legs. Unfortunately, too much of the legs had to be cut off and prostetics could not be attached.  This was when Mr Ryder's son Dale, 37, a mechanical engineer, glued a pair of wheels from a model airplane to her shell.

“It was like fitting her with a turbo charger – she’s going double the speed she used to,” said Ryder. “Mrs T is still quite young for a tortoise. She could go on for another 50 years – all she needs is a new set of tyres every now and again.”
