I have a GIF photo of 83Kb and 180 x 130 that animates on my desktop, it loads as a new avatar but will not animate on the Forum.
Please enlighten me
or I might have to work it out myself.

Well that's all OK - as is 83kb size.
Should work, but clearly doesn't!
Could you possibly email it to me and I'll try to sort it out on the Caravanchat server?

I had same problem and settled on one of my own photos. The avatar did not animate.

Currently Caravanchat allows Avatars which are a maximum of:
185 wide
230 high
150kb size
If you upload an Avatar which is bigger, Caravanchat will attempt to resize it.
If an animated Gif is resized, it will lose its animation.

No worries Bugs, although its all within the ruling regarding pixels and filesize I think its the online converter that may be a bit suspect, I have had this before if my memory is correct on another forum.
Leave it with me and I'll try another converter or two. (I'm adding snow effect to a jpeg photo of mine)
Cheers
