Worried!
#1
Had an MRI scan on Saturday, told to expect results in about 10 days. But today at about 2.30 pm on Monday, less than 48 hours later, got a phone call from the Doctor telling me that the results have shown a marked deterioration in the thickness of my lower spine, and she is referring me to a spine specialist. She prescribed stronger pain blockers and said the specialist would contact me in due course!
She also said that if I get any feeling of numbness in my lower limbs or total weakness, to go to A&E immediately.
That really put the frighteners on me, but explains the constant dull pain in my lower back, and the dreadful but frequent leg muscle cramps and spasms. On occasions lately my lower spine feels like its about to snap.
Not usually prone to panics, but not feeling to bright at the moment. Gees I hate getting old!

Don't give up TF, Alfiesmum has a very weak back after extensive surgery, she says that sitting all day worrying is not the answer. Carry on as normally as you can mate.

Again sorry to hear of your problems TF - try and stay positive in the knowledge that the treatments available these days are amazing. We have been through medical problems with our daughter recently and we have been worried sick - but the surgery and treatment since has been exceptional and hopefully she now has a brighter future.

It's not easy, but if you can stay positive, keep busy, follow all the advice you are given, and make sure when you need to, talk with trusted family and friends it does make things a bit easier. We have a great health service compared with a lot of places, despite all the hullabaloo surrounding it. The front line care teams, consultants, surgeons, doctors, nurses, ancillary staff are very dedicated and caring, and I am sure will give you as much help as they can TF. Give yourself small, achievable daily goals, stretch them when you feel able, and take heart on small victories! Yep

You have friends on here as well of course! Smile
