What to do now!

I think the seasonal pitch is the way to go, TF, as several of us have said. You've little to lose and lots to gain.

The idea of a MH is an alternative but not for everyone. You certainly wouldn't have the space you have in the cvan but everything needs to be a compromise at times.

TF If thinking of going down the Motor caravan route i also suggest you give one a try before you buy,as one of the reasons (not main) we went back to tugging after 7 years of the "dark side",1 campervan and 1 coachbuilt ,is that i also suffer from lower spine problems (inoperable),and was finding the much stiffer suspension and tyres of what is a commercial vehicle, was not helping my spine,

Just my take on the situation

ps first post but thought it important

Thanks JV, and welcome. I really do appreciate the helpful advice from you and all the other members of this very positive forum. - When I started this thread I was in a dark and almost frightening place, but thanks to all of my friends here, I am once again looking forward. I am not going to give in to it. Clearly the seasonal route is the way ahead, but on reflection it needs to be closer to home, so we will enjoy our Holiday at St Buryan as usual, but look out for a more suitable billet a bit closer to home. i think if we used the St Buryan offer we would not go down to it enough due to the distance.
Somewhere in South Devon or Dorset would more convenient, and encourage greater use.

See, now you're thinking your way through, TF. I quite agree that St Buryan is a long way. If you're considering Dorset, may I suggest looking at Birchwood Tourist Park near Wareham. I wrote a review - http://www.caravanchat.org.uk/community/...p?tid=2546

It's good to hear you sounding positive.

It's not cheap but I reckon it's value for money and a far better site than Hunters Moon over the road.

Site we have never been to, but doesn't DSB over on CT use a rather nice site close to Tavistock? That is a lovely town, and you have Dartmoor and the South Devon coast not too far away. Not sure what it is called, but it always sounds nice, and they might have seasonal pitches. Might be worth asking him TF.

I think it might be this one TF. Not sure on prices.

Woodovis is the site Benson had a seasonal on. Wonder if he's still there?
