Instructions for Windows Mobile
No cables involved.
Phone: Click on "Settings" "Internet Sharing" - turn on.
Computer/tablet: search for signal, enter password from phone Internet Sharing

It can vary with network providers as to how tethering works and most don't allow the facility with pay and go plans.

Yes you need to contact your provider if it does not work, on your PAYG Plan no problems on a Contract.
You will need to have sufficient Data to use the facility too.

On my iPhone it's in Mobile Data. It's really simple and I've been using it all week.
Tip - reset the tethering password to something you can remember!
