Hundreds of caravans have set up camp at a Cambridgeshire village as a group of born again Christian travellers arrived for a religious convention.
But the arrival in Witchford of the 200-strong group of caravans from the Light and Life Gypsy Church has prompted anger from residents who say they were given no warning and have witnessed anti-social driving on the roads.
The church has booked the Griffiths Equestrian site – the same venue it rented a few years ago for a similar event.
One resident, who did not want to be named, said: "It's classed as a 'Christian' convention and open to all but there has been no advertising or promotion as such. The first anyone knew was on Friday morning when a shedload of caravans turned up."
