We used to watch it Dianne, both live and on TV. It used to be all over TV at one time, and to be honest I would prefer it to some of the boring stuff thats on nowadays. Although I suspect a lot found showjumping boring at the time. Saw the end of the Puissance on YouTube, two very different approaches, but effective.
In our home, dog fur is a fashion accessory! It's also a condiment.......

In my youth I attempted to do some horse jumping, nothing more than 24 inches high , I had to follow in the family tradition. Those who watch show jumping on TV will from time to time see the problems I found from day one. Yes you can point a horse at an obstetrical, and yes it will jump over it, my problem was to still be with the horse on the other side. We would part company before takeoff , during, or after the event. Soon preferred a car. At least you can stop that when needed.

I only ever jumped a horse about twice first was as described above, second was when it bolted, I started the exercise but hit the ground before the horse finished jumping. No showing like that. only to pleased when I passed my driving test. I worked lots of Suffolk horses at harvest time. again I would like to say that was fun, but oh so slow. |
