Front Towing Covers
#1
Forget to mention we purchased one of the above from Pro-tec at the Manchester show - £25 saving- and it’s currently being made to measure for our van.

Have debated with myself for awhile about getting one as we tour all year and always afraid of damaging a front window. I know it’s a bit more faff before setting off but seemed the sensible thing to do.

Does anyone else use one and how have you found it?

We had one with our last Caravan and it was a great addition especially in the winter months. Take your time fitting it and recheck for tightness regularly if travelling for more than 90 mins or so, saved lots of front of Caravan cleaning

I bought one in 2012.   I keep my van under an open-ended carport at home and I fitted the cover straight away.   It kept the front of the van clean and dry.   It was still fitted when I left to travel to southern Spain.    I spread my journey over a couple of weeks, stopping for two nights and sometimes three at every overnight stop.   I found it irksome to remove the cover at each stop.   I disliked the fact that I couldn't see out even more.   At my final destination, I took it off, folded it and looked for somewhere to store it.   On the return journey, I didn't bother fitting it and decided against using it again.   Fortunately, I put it on ebay and got almost what I paid for it two years earlier.

We’ve had a specialised cover for nearly 4 years and wouldn’t do without one. Takes about 2 minutes to put on and less to to remove. It protects and keeps the front of the van clean. We haven’t had any problems/scratching to the front windows.

The one we are buying has a zip down the middle allowing windows to be revealed without the need to remove completely on those overnight stops.

Will have to see how I find it in real use
