Beecraigs Caravan and Camp Site, Linlithgow.
#1
This commercial site lies on the edge of the Beecraigs Country Park approximately 2 miles uphill, to south of Linlithgow. There are 23 huge level H/S pitches spread over 5 separate areas, plus a separate tenting section and a couple of Camping Pods. The site has two quality ablution blocks with laundry, dishwashing rooms, disabled provision (with bath), 5 family shower rooms, with hand & hair dryers and separate Mens and Ladies toilet rooms. Access to the site is by security fobs, collected when booking in at the visitors centre, or if arriving late in a coded box at the entrance gate. The site is very peaceful and great for those who like walking & those with dogs, as there is access directly onto the CP's forest tracks. There are a number of waymarked trails, leaflets available from visitor's centre, and for the cyclist a couple of forest trails, 3 Mountainbike tracks and a Skills Area. There are many places of interest close to the site. such as Blackness Castle, Hopetoun House, Linlithgow Palace, and at Falkirk The Skelpies and The Wheel. The site is approximately 12 miles from both Stirling and Edinburgh for those that wish to venture a bit further afield. There is a regular bus service from Linlithgow to both Falkirk and Edinburgh, and the town has an Aldi, a Sainsbury's and a Tesco Express as well as a number of smaller specialist shops. The CP's visitor centre has a large information room/gift shop and exhibition, and a restaurant, which is open from about 9:30 for breakfast, should anyone not wish to cook their own.
We were there 4 nights using the 4 nights for the price of 3 low season mid week offer and that worked out at apprx £16:10 pn. We would certainly go back again as there are lots more that we could have done in the area.
