Ar-Dachaigh, Carrbridge, near Aviemore
This is not quite a CL, not being a member of any of any caravan or M/H organisation at the moment, and takes only 3 units maximum. It is situates close to the centre of the village and about 100 m off the main through road, so is nice and quiet apart from the early morning call of the the owners cockerel!! The site has 3 hardstanding pitches with EHU, free wifi, a drinking water tap and separate drain and tap for elsan/waste water. The site has recently been given a look over by the local CL inspector who gave it the thumbs up. It can take 3 M/Hs or 2 M/Hs and 1 caravan, and the owner is reluctant to take any with dogs.
Carrbridge has a couple of hotels, a cafe and a small shop for essentials, and there is bus stop close the end of the road to the site with services to Inverness one way and to Aviemore and beyond in the on a bother direction. The village itself lies a B road well off the main A9 trunk road but has good links to both that and to the A95 Granton on Spey road. Aviemore lies about 6 mles away and has a Tesco, an Aldi and a Homebargains as well as numerous sports and hiking shops such as Blacks & NevisSports, as well as a petrol station. There is direct access from the site to the woods behind which have a fine network of footpaths and are well known for their birdlife. There are lots of interesting places close by such as the RSPB Reserves at Loch Garten (famous for it's Ospreys) and Insh Marshes; Rothiemurchus and Glenmore Forest Parks; the Cairngorm mountains themselves, and at Kingussie the Highland Folk Museum.
At £15 per night we considered it good value for the area that it's located in, and will certainly use it again when up this way.

The owner Millie, who is very friendly, can be contacted at this e-mail address :- :
