Looking for Cornwall suggestions
#1
We are starting to plan a long overdue trip to Cornwall. Arriving roughly 18th May we will have between 10 days and a fortnight.
As last year on the IoW we are intending to hire a small car for a week so the MH can be left in situ. We are looking for somewhere close to Padstow but would go further South if needed. Facilities or non facilities considered club site cl or private site considered. We love walking and sight seeing, dog friendly locations a must. Look forward to your thoughts

Could be well worth it if you PM tda, Hugh. They have been regular visitors to Cornwall over the years. A CL we would recommend is Venndown Farmhouse, near Bodmin, not that far from the area you're interested in.

I have sent you a PM with some ideas Hugh. Hope they're useful!
You don't have to a have a dog in your life - but it certainly helps!

We love Tower View Caravan and Camping site at St Buryan Nr Penzance. Privately owned by one of my oldest friends, but very good indeed and nice & flat. 4 separate fields all with EHU pitches. Toilet block is not in first flush of youth but kept spotless. Lots of beautiful beaches & surf all around. Check it out on the internet.

Thank you for all your suggestions we have booked Venndown Farmhouse for our main stopping point and May add to it as we go. We are going to hire a small car for the week so we can explore the smaller byways highways and villages, and leave the MH parked up.
Pasties and cream teas here we come

Hugh please let us know how you get on. It will be our first year with a MH and we too plan to hire a small car locally.

Hi Hugh, just seen this thread. I have hired vehicles in Cornwall before, but not in Tintagel area. I would go with smallest vehicle you can cope with, it will be easier to get down lanes and park up. Unless you have committed to your full stay at Venndown, I would consider doing a split stay, as the area down on Lands End and Lizard is quite different to further North. A lot wilder, and there are some very dog friendly beaches down there.
Make sure you have a day out down towards Fowey, truly gorgeous and great walking. There’s a car park above Readymoney Cove, walk down to Cove (sadly not dog welcoming any more) then walk along coastal path until you get to Polridmouth Beach. This is the location for Daphne Du Maurier’s “Rebecca”. A great place to swim, and lounge around. Not a big sandy place, but three small coves, backed by a lovely ornamental lake. It’s take your own picnic, but lots of nice places for food in Fowey. It’s a hidden gem, more folks arrive by the water than on foot. There is a closer car park at Menabilly Barton if you have limited time.

In our home, dog fur is a fashion accessory! It's also a condiment....... Yay!  Heart
