Its good of you to use the CL network. I like many others have seen a decline in bookings over the past few years, I fully understand why, Your and my £ does not go very fare these days. Despite a drop in nights stayed I still plan to keep the CL open as long as my age allows, made to many friends.

David, we do try to use CLs as much as possible but many are now more expensive than club sites in the low season, especially the C&CC sites with their 25% OAP discount, and a variety of further discounts out of peak season. We also use their THSs, & off grid too. Good to hear that you are still going to continue running your CL, and I hope visitor numbers pick up for you. Have you thought of plugging it on the various 5 Van pages on Facebook?

Great to see your comments, I am at this time doing site maintenance, fences need replacing and trees trimmed. Also there is new legislation re waste disposal, which will require us to supply a waste food bin per pitch, this will be emptied week at a cost of £3.70 per bin per week, even if not used, this plus our usual waste bin at £1000 per year. I plan to keep the CL for another year before I make up my mind re the future re the CL

The council are taking the p**s!! It certainly isn't the way to encourage visitors or enterprises such as yours. Don't they realise that many will not visit if prices rise too much as they too are feeling the pinch.

I totally agree, so if all goes to plan I have a new contract from a private company re waste disposal from April. the main problem is the need for a certificate to say the waste has been disposed legally.

If your local authority are doing their job properly they should be keen for private companies to collect refuse, with the proper safeguards.
I hope all goes to plan and you can keep your costs down and so have no need either to raise your site prices too much, so putting potential visitors off, or force you to close the site.

I guess this forum has died a death, as there has been no post since 28th February, which is a shame really but I suppose these sort of thing happen. It was fun while it lasted but all good things must come to an end, or so they say, so I think this will also be my last post on here.
