WW Battle site visit.
#1
My daughter wants to visit both WWI and WWII Battle sites in France, probably in a couple of trips, and is after advice about where would be the best places to stop from which to tour. She has the Major and Mrs Holt Field Guides and they are great for exact locations but don't help in finding a central location from which to tour. She want to go and see The Somme, Arras, and possibly Amiens, having been to Passendale and Ypres, and other associated WWI sites for one trip and then the D-Day beaches, and Oradour-sur-Glane along with other WWII Sites.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.

Thiepval Is worth a visit, not only a great monument and location but also a museum. Car parking is excellent, we parked there with the caravan hitch, so plenty of room

Thanks, OP I will pass that on to her. What she is really after is a central location to stay so as to be able to take in as many of the battlefield sites as possible without having to move to many different locations for stop overs.
