Matthew Henderson from Beamish Museum in County Durham has come top of a public vote to become England’s Tourism Superstar 2015.
Matthew went up against ten other short-listed nominees in a public vote run by the English national tourist board in partnership with the Daily Mirror designed to recognise the dedication and passion of those working in the tourism industry, and those who go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure visitors to England have a priceless experience.

My nephew, with his vintage BSA motorcycle is a volunteer/supporter at Beamish museum and so are his wife and daughter, they quite often dress up in period costume to mingle with the visitors and take part in other events that the museum hosts. Althought I come from around there I have never been in the museum and have driven past on numerous occasions. I've just never had the time when I used tio visit the family. Maybe one day

We went in the 1970s when it was still being built up (we were just "courting" in those days)
Went back a couple of years ago - and have to say it's an amazing place!
If anyone is ever heading for God's Country (Northumberland) from the south - it's always worth stopping off whilst still in the south (in Durham) to see Beamish.

We have been a few times over the years it is a good day out as is Black Country museum and bliss Hill in Telford
