Not used organic, but only use Elsan and no other toilet fluid, I buy the largest size and decant to save on weight, the reason only Elsan is our dealer does not stock anything else and when I use Thetford Pink I end up with black bits when flushing

We only use Elsan organic now , been using it for about 8 years , it does not stain and the odour is not as pungent as the blue , it seems to break down the “contents” in the cassette just as well as the blue .if you do spill it on your hands it just wash’s off , I only use water in the flush tank

Some people I have spoken to use washing machine tablets they reckon it lubricates the seals on the flap

I alternate between bio tabs and Blue Diamond blue, although I carry a supply of green organic fluid for sites that request it's use. In the flush tank I add a little scented zoflora disinfectant, and occasionally some pink. On the last tow home I put 2 tabs in the cassette and then add the hot water that I drain out of the van. This ensures that the cassette is as clean as I can make it.

On our just finished trip there was an invasion of the black bits in the rinse water. I let the tank pump out dry in the hope of defeating them but what happened was the pump stopped making suction although it was running well.  So did the 100ml bleach in 10 litre of water and 24 hour soak.  Got the pump going in a couple of hours so ran some of the solution through it and topped up the tank for the duration.

It now scoots the rinse water further and faster than ever before but still with occasional black bits. Got my inspection camera once home and looked inside the rinse water tank - not good. Still a lot of black about considering the soak in bleach. Plan now is for every second fill on the next trip to be the dilute bleach.

I'm very cautious about even bleach in the rinse water as I recall around the time of screen washers being introduced on cars a friend of mine adding dishwasher powder to give enhanced cleaning. It worked remarkably well for a while untill everything stopped when the pump collapsed with most of the metal parts disolved.

On Saturday I prepped the van with water including toilet for a few nights away before winter sets in, yesterday we had to cancel our booking as we go into lockdown on Friday, only had three nights away this year. Guess what I'm doing today !! Yes draining it

We are waiting to see what happens with Greater Manchester as we have 3 trips planned between now and the beginning of December which looks like we will have to cancel. New Year at Wharfedale is also looking doubtful!

Booked the van in for its first service yesterday and was told that in addition to the usual emptying we would have to remove all carpets and soft furnishings before they would accept it!

Wharfdale, now there is a nice site, I would love to spend New Year there, last time we went was a few years ago for the Dickensian weekend in December.

Booked our service for next March but not told to empty van, that is a real pain especially curtains
