Christmas Lunch

A tradition in my family started during the shortages of the First World War whereby we always have had tomato soup with hot toast, and cottage pie - though the latter has become in the last couple of years lasagne. This year the soup will be in paper cups and individual cottage pies in tinfoil containers, all served in the driveway to a relay of children so that never more people at one time than seems safe.

Delia's 1990 Christmas book has been brought out again as the next recipe is iced Christmas pudding with glace' fruits, this has been a family favourite for over 20 years.  The last recipe tomorrow will be Stollen then the book will be put away until December 2021.  You would have thought by the amount of stuff already made we will have a houseful but alas there will only be the 2 of us
