Covid an inside story

No that is down to Trump who has done almost nothing to stem the spread. Indeed his latest episode probably spread it to thousands of his supporters!

Quite a lot of people fined in our area. Father and son fined for travelling from London to their holiday home in North Norfolk. A lady fined for driving from somewhere in Essex (?) to Norwich to deliver a present. Perhaps the government need to put up big signs on all roads defining the word ESSENTIAL. I’m happy that police vehicles are fitted with vehicle license plate recognition system.

Just for some balance:
I think you will find that most State's have been making up their own rules regarding COVID. The President was criticised for banning flights from China (very early on) and the Senate kept blocking his relief package which he finally got sorted through an executive order

Lots of problems at Dovestones Reservoir up near Saddleworth with people driving out from Manchester to go walking there, and a couple that were interviewed thought that as they were in there own bubble it was ok to travel wherever they liked!!

I think that people can still travel provided it for business purposes, Dianne. There are plenty of flights still going to the states. Passengers need a negative Covid result within 3 days of flying. If course there are also aircrew landing over there from all round the world so the virus could come in that way.

Oneputt, don’t worry about me, I’m no expert on Covid or on Trump, and I have no strong views about their awful position in this pandemic! Neither has it escaped my knowledge that despite their huge and frightening number of deaths, if you compare those deaths against ours we are worse if you compare by percentage of the population.
Where I do think he has let them down is in his failure to accept that Covid was a serious threat. Leaders must lead, and in the fight against Covid he has not done so!

On thinking about it I am not sure that virus which they said started here. I have always thought we found it first because our scientists are far in front of detecting these things and found well ahead of other countries.

With regards to our numbers being higher our population per area is far greater than other countries in Europe.

Very true Dianne. I don’t think that is appreciated by many.
What I do find strange is the attitude of France under Macron. They too have a serious problem, but look at their attitude to vaccinations- their take up it quite simply miniscule.

I think that we're all in agreement TF Yes
What I do find strange is the lack of information regarding the rate of infections in Europe. Are they keeping secrets from the rest of the world Huh
