Covid an inside story

I have to admit to being a bit despondent! It’s getting worse every day. And for the first time in my life I’m not Having any feeling having any control over my destiny. It’s not pleasant!

What I do find strange is the lack of information regarding the rate of infections in Europe. Are they keeping secrets from the rest of the world Huh

No the press here are not reporting from Europe I think too busy here.
On the 10 pm BBC News tonight the figures were down which is heartening.

Like most people I am finding the lockdown a bit challenging. Being confined to home and not socialising with friends and family is not something I never thought I would be obliged to do. But I am following the rules and using electronic communication as a poor substitute. I enjoy gardening and during last year's lockdown I spent my time tending the garden and chatting to neighbours over the boundary fences. This being winter, that option is not possible. Even our local men's shed had to close and I'm not able to create woodworking masterpieces. (My description maybe not others) . Roll on the vaccination programme as it appears that this is the only way to get back to normal living. Both my wife and I are really missing holidays and it would be great if we could restart visiting interesting places in the UK.

We are booked into a site in Pembrokeshire in early April. I do hope that we can do it by then.

We've booked a couple of sites for April and May, but only in UK. I doubt if we'll get to Europe this year.
But I do wish "they" would get on with the vaccine jabs in Wales! Anne is 84 and we've heard nothing. When we were at the surgery last week they didn't know anything either.
Wake up Mr. Drakeford, and tell us what's happening, please!

Emmerson, I share your frustration, I am younger than you (76) but keep receiving letters from the NHS warning me to isolate because I am significantly at risk but appear to be no closer to getting the jab.

On a more positive note, my own Doctors Surgery was recently on local TV because of a Brilliant idea by two of the Doctors there. They are a husband and wife team. They have constructed a pull along medical Chest,- fitted out to deliver the Covid injections (It looks like a suitcase on wheels) and are going around the local area on foot, calling on the over eightees and Injecting them on their doorstep. Thus negating the need for their elderly patients to find a way to get to the Surgery. They are of course wearing full PPE. What a great idea.

Fantastic, TF. Our doctors haven't been seen for months! I think they're all hibernating.
We have a married couple of retired doctors as neighbours. Both say that they couldn't work to the current system where they cannot physically see the patient. They believe (rightly, IMO) that eye and body language can often tell more than words.

AD have a look at this web site as it give a daily breakdown of cases worldwide.

My wife is regarded as a front line worker working in an opticians. She has a slot from the vaccine on 26 January at 7pm. She is really relived being as she is in close contact with mainly older members of the population dispensing glasses. I thought being in the over 60 category that I would be vaccinated first but as usual she has beaten me! Gasp
