So a total of 360,000 miles.  I am a stickler for regular and timely servicing. But apart from Tyres and wiper blades etc, no failures of any parts were experienced- not even. Brake light bulbs!
Bomb proof reliability!

TF I have found that with my Volvo's , Now my mileage is very low but the only problem I can recall was many years back, on M1 and a vibration under the car. got off M1 stopped and found a local Volvo dealer nearby, called in . No problem he said there has been a batch of prop shafts with faults, up on ramp new shaft fitted papers signed and away in 30 minutes , that was service. the dealers have always looked after my cars over the years with no problems , hence I keep to the brand. My first 245 did 250000 miles before I changed. my last one had 120000 and was 14 years old.

Car driving on motorways and built up areas is boring. Yes you can get to your destination quicker but there is no thrill in the journey.

Actually, Bessie, I'd argue that! Back in the 60s/early70s, I used to drive Citroen DS and ID. I lived here in South Wales, and my parents lived near Whitehaven in Cumbria.
A regular overnight trip used to take around 4.5 hours, pre M6, and 5.5 using the motorway. Parents are long gone, but I still do the same trip occasionally. It now never takes less than 7 hours in a V8 Landrover. Another journey was Cardiff to Newcastle, service three lorries, then drive back home. Total time 14 hours.

But the average electric gives an unrefueled range of not much over 40 miles at best! That is light years away from proper motoring - Not in a million years an I accept that!
At best a powerful hybrid might work for me.
And before anyone accuses me of being a speed merchant, I am talking about “ Grunt” I want a heavy totally powerful vehicle that can move over poor terrain- Like a Landcruiser or Bugs Discovery!
I don’t like toy cars!
