Manipulation!
#1
Perhaps it’s just me, but I’m increasingly fed up with Tesco’s home delivery service, in that they are constantly refusing to stock particular items I want!
They have now decided not to supply “King of Shaves” shaving Gell. They will not supply “Terry”s Plain Chocolate Orange ( they do supply the milk version) They are obviously trying to phase out Fever Tree tonic They have already deleted Fever Tree Ginger Ale! I realise that these are minor points but I really hate to be manipulated and dictated to as to what I can have. - Changing to a different home delivery service!

Probably because the profit margin isn't big enough for them.

We don't do home delivery, much preferring to visit the supermarkets at a quiet time and select the produce we want, not have someone else pick it for us. I think the only way to ensure you get the particular items that you want is to order them separately from somewhere like Amazon!!!?

We get deliveries from Asda, Sainsburys, Morrisons & Aldi at the mo - and it seems to be common practice that if we have ordered an item that is unavailable, they substitute it with another item as close as possible.

We can only get Sainsbury’s but they have been very good. One or two substitutes but before you send your order in you can change either Accept or Decline substitute for each item.

Would like to get from Waitrose or M&S for a change but no slots in this area at all.

In retail, shelf space has to return a percentage profit on an individual item , if that item doesn’t sell enough in a given time then it’s replaced by an item that does sell .
I used to buy chocolate rice pudding ( I know ) from Sainsbury’s,then they stopped selling it ,when I e-mailed them about it ,I was told to stock that item they needed to sell 10 a week and their records showed they only sold 8 a week ,so the item was dropped .

Our village shop used to stock Birds Custard Powder

And their sales pitch was "you can't buy this in a supermarket"

I accept your comments but I will not be dictated to in respect of what I want. Sainsbury’s sell those items so Tesco have lost a customer.

Personally, TF, if it were left to me I'd have all the Tesco stores closed down!

I will never darken Tesco’s doors after two incidents I witnessed.
