Normandy Escorted Tour
#1
Tourers that have never taken an outfit overseas can consider the First Time Normandy Escorted Tour with the Caravan and Motorhome Club. For both beginners and those who would like to gain more confidence to perfect their maneuvering skills, an escorted European trip to France is a great way to practice driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road! Interested tourers are encouraged to book now as places are still available for the trip departing on Monday 9 September, from £2,999 for an outfit plus two people*.
The 11-night tour includes two nights at Rookesbury Park Club Campsite in Hampshire before taking part in a continental driving course at Fontwell Park Racecourse with the Club’s experienced instructors. Tourers will then set sail for France, with the Brittany Ferries crossing to Caen included in the price, before embarking on an escorted tour to Normandy and the Camping Port’land Campsite.
Located in the beautiful resort of Port-en-Bessin, one of Normandy’s fishing ports, the campsite has been imaginatively landscaped, with many pitches overlooking small fishing ponds, a heated swimming pool, shop, bar and restaurant are just some of the facilities on offer. Tourers can enjoy rambles along the nearby coastal path that leads to the sandy Omaha Beach or walk into the town offering a number of shops, waterfront bars and restaurants. Just inland is the historic town of Bayeux, famous for its Tapestry but also an interesting destination for its architectural sites.
During the trip, tourers will get the chance to step back in time on an all-day excursion at D-Day beaches of Sword, Juno and Gold, a visit to the British Normandy memorial and Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches, sample some of Normandy’s finest specialties with a local producer and explore the region with plenty of free time.
For further information about becoming a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club or to book, please visit http://www.camc.com or call 01342 318 813.
