The results of the 30th Caravan Design Awards were announced at the NEC on Wednesday 16 October 2024. The awards were presented by Club Chairman, David Turner, and Club Director General, Nick Lomas.
Judging of the 62 entries took place during the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC in October and via desktop assessment prior to viewing the vehicles. These awards provide the best quality, and quantity, of information to members and buyers.
Vehicles were divided into 12 categories and new for this year, all lightweight caravans were welcomed into these awards rather than being entered into the Lightweight Leisure Trailer Awards as was the case in previous years.
Before judging at the NEC, the expert panel collectively spent over one thousand hours going through an immense amount of data from websites, brochures, handbooks and entry forms to complete in-depth evaluations via desktop - at the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC the judges then physically viewed the vehicles to complete this comprehensive judging process.
Nick Lomas, Director General of the Caravan and Motorhome Club said, “Now in its 30th year, the Caravan Design Awards provide an invaluable source of information to help people decide on their next caravan purchase. We hope it will inspire many people to look at leisure vehicle holidays as an option to explore, have adventures and great holidays. The Club would like to thank the manufacturers for their continued support of our competitions. Our sincere congratulations go to all the winners.”
The panel of independent Judges for the Caravan Design Awards follow rigorous scoring checklists. Judges assess everything from sitting comfort, standing headroom, kitchen design, storage, switches, wiring, security, repair and warranty arrangements to general safety.
