Places to visit in Italy.

If you ever go to Tuscany in Italy one town you must visit is Pienza. Like most towns in Tuscany it is situated on top of a mountain. You can reach this one by car where there is good parking and walk on the flat.

We have not visited Northern Italy except to visit Tavisio a lovely small town on the borders of Austria and Slovenia from Ossiachersee. Just 30 miles. We usually drive directly there and then visit Tavisio and the Lakes where we have picnic at the furthest Lake at Fucine. Ideal place for Dog walking Good Toilets there too. Photo I put in the Photography Forum the other day. This is the Market Square, parking is cheap just off the main street at the opposite side of the road. Information Office is just a bit further along the main street for maps of area and the Lakes. More pictures on Website in Trips from 2012. Tavisio is famous for its indoor Leather Market and Leather shops.
we usually make it a round trip coming home from the Lakes and into Slovenia visiting Kranska Gora and home over the Wurzen Pass.Wonderful Trip being in three Countries.

Sienna. This is a lovely City again on top of a Mountain and difficult to get there by Foot Lots and lots of steps. They have now got an Escalator from one of the Car parks which is excellent. We did find a car park quite a way up near the Duomo then walk to city centre was fairly flat.

This is the Duomo (Cathedral) beautiful building inside and out.

Sienna, The Piazza del Campo. A wonderful place to people watch. Incidentally the building in the middle has a screen over it to show what the building looks like without the scaffolding all over the front, as it has here. Have seen this in Germany too so good when buildings are being renovated to be able to photograph them without the scaffolding etc.
