Just come back from Italy, probably the worst drivers in Europe, speed limits mean nothing to them nor do solid white lines or no overtaking on bends, if you do 50 in a 50 zone they are up your tail sounding their horns to make you go faster, out of the cars they some of the nicest people around

They certainly are a bit mad I agree but as you say they are the nicest people and so helpful. Where did you go and have you any Sites to review?

My impression was that 50% of the drivers believed they were at Monza but they neither had the skill, talent or intelligence! It seemed that every other driver had a mobile phone stuck to their ear and some of these were really unpredictable. The roads once you leave the motorways are in a really bad state. Every village seems to have a speed camera, judging by how the locals drive I don't think many could be loaded. Strangely they seemed to have respect when the caravan was attached. Once you get over the driving as Dianne says they are really nice people and the country and architecture is lovely.

I haven't caravanned in Italy since the late 90s but in 2001 we got quite a long way south. My impression was that the further south you travelled, the worse the standard of driving became.
